Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Domestic violence has reached epidemic proportions in the United States, and it is not limited to women. The exact extent is unknown, since it is under-reported. It is known to be present more often in cohabitation than in marital relationships. It is found often in conjunction with alcohol or drug use.
